Beautiful building of by-gone era

Had a meal there for my daughter's 40th birthday. The food was lovely and Annette who looked after us was brilliant. From the moment we arrived nothing was too much trouble for her she even took some photos for us so we would remember the occasion. Thank you Annette you were great!

A step back in time, nice to find a pub untouched by modern refurbishment. Original and unspoilt ! Nice coffee friendly bar staff - unhurried and relaxed.

Worth going in here just to have a look at the place alone, decent selection of beers tad pricey some but overall a good pub

We had a pint at The Phil after coming back from the Cathedral. The mosaic floors, walls and bar area are fantastical. The Diningroom reminds one of the by-gone days of stained glass ceiling, crystal chandeliers and huge fireplaces! It was a busy place but we found a spot and enjoyed the ambiance!

Went here for a quick drink. My friends and I sat down to look at the drinks menu. 2 of us decided to have a glass of prosecco at £4 a glass as advertised. Went the bar to ask for 2 glasses of prosecco and a larger .to be informed that we couldn't have 2 glasses as there were no... More

My friends and I waited 50 minutes for our food to arrive. I couldn't eat my steak, it chewed in to a hard ball of sinewy stuff that I couldn't swallow. I complained and was offerred a replacement I didn't have time for this so I asked for a refund, even that wasn't right giving me less than I paid.... More

I have visited her many times for a drink , beautiful inside could spend a few hours enjoying a drink in a lovely atmosphere with friendly staff . Today we ate there , it was just 'OK' and for the price I would have expected better. Would recommend for a drink but not eat.

The Phil is a must in Liverpool. Old Victorian features make it a great pub for interior. Don't come here for a meal as the food is poor but this pub is worth the visit just for the atmosphere and interior!

Went between Christmas & New Year. Was informed half hour wait for food, it actually took an hour and was woeful. I ordered the hummus, roast pepper sandwich. It came with a faint smear of hummus, too dry to eat. When I mentioned to the young waitress, she just smiled & took my plate away. Friends ordered other sandwiches which... More

My fiancé & I visited for a drink, following a recommendation from the city explorer tour we had taken the day before. The pub has some amazing period features and a cosy atmosphere, with lovely leather sofas and chairs & some historic snugs. Drinks were reasonably priced. We did not eat here, but the menu looked very good.
