A must if in Liverpool

We popped in after the tour guide on the hop on hop off bus tour recommended it. Well worth a stop off, apparently the court scenes in Peeky Blinders filmed here.

Since the last time we visited we have managed to see the very famous Minton tiled floor, we only managed to see it through a very small space in the courthouse as there was a Royal function going on there at the time of visiting. Apparently the floor is only on show every 12 to 18 months when there is... More

I've been to St. George's Hall a few times over the years. What a beautiful building with great history. The chance to see the Minton floor was a unique opportunity as it's rarely revealed to the public. It was also interesting having a look at one of the grand old Crown Courts and the cells below. I even had the... More

Over the last few days the main hall was open with the Minton floor unveiled for public viewing. It also has one of the best organs in the country. This must be one of the best city centre halls in the land. "It is a building in Neoclassical style which contains concert halls and law courts, and is recorded in... More

Was lucky enough to be in Liverpool when the beautiful Minton tiled floor at the St Georges Hall was available for public viewing (only happens for a couple of weeks a year). The great hall was stunning. The old assize courts and cells were interesting and the coffee shop was good value & welcome after spending an hour or so... More

I've been here before with friends for the cells and catacombs tour but I've wanted to see the Milton Tile Floor for some time. We paid for the tour which included the cells, one of the court rooms, the balcony overlooking the uncovered tiled floor, the small concert room and then to actually walk on the Milton Tile Floor. We... More

What a surprise! I've lived in Liverpool all my life and never visited the hall before. It was lovely. The museum under the floor was interesting and my 2 children also enjoyed the visit (aged 10 & 12). The cost to get in was £2.50 and it took us about an hour and a half to look round. There was... Interesting to see floor which is normally covered over. Attractive but a bit underwhelmed after big build up about it. Hall is large impressive building with some attractive stained glass windows, statues and gift shop.

I visited to see the uncovered Minton tiles but saw so much more. The Minton floor is no doubt amazing and a must see at least once. Below stairs there are the holding cells and you are able to walk from a cell up a spiral staircase into the court, very atmospheric. there is also an exhibition of Adrian Henri's... More

Turned up at this place by accident. Free to get in and visit very the very interesting Victorian prison. Got to see the old cells and the courtroom. Then for £2:50 access to the main event, the big hall and the tiled floor. Absolutely fantastic.
