With its connections to The Beatles ,George Harrison & Paul McCartney were pupils here and John Lennon had ties with this school ,Liverpool Institute For Performing Arts ( L.I.P.A ) is most certainly a must go destination if you're a fan of the fab four ,the building, a beautiful Grade II listed building, was constructed in 1825 ,it closed as a school in 1985 ,its still a great building to view ,its a great example of Classical architecture, very photogenic and most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area and easy to locate along Mount Street.

Constructed in 1825 originally as a boys school the Liverpool Institute Of Performing Arts ( L.I.P.A ) is a wonderful and historic building in the heart of the Georgian Quarter.
This beautiful Grade II listed building closed as a school in 1985 but for fans of The Beatles its a must go destination, both George Harrison and Paul McCartney both attended here as pupils and John Lennon had connections to the school, I just love the architecture, its such a fantastic piece of architecture, stately but not overpowering and blends in with the great architecture to be found in this part of town, its most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area and easy to locate along Mount Street, its located near the great piece of street art known as " A Case History ".

Liverpool is justifiably famous for its great architecture and the Liverpool Institute Of Performing Arts is a great example of the fantastic buildings found in Liverpool and if your a Beatles fan a must go photo destination.
Established as a boys school in 1825 ,the facade of the building is a Grade II Listed building ,it closed as a school in 1985 ,both Paul McCartney and George Harrison attended the school as pupils and John Lennon also had connections with the institute, its a haunt of Beatles fans and Beatle tours, I just love the look of the building, very classical and in such a fantastic area, the Georgian Quarter is my favourite district of Liverpool, great architecture, wonderful street art and fabulous pubs, bars and restaurants.
The Liverpool Institute Of Performing Arts is easy to locate along Mount Street, most definitely well worth a visit if you're in the area.

My uncle, Dennis Booth, was a language teacher at the Institute and finished as Principal of the Institute. It was a boys only school. He taught Paul McCartney and George Harrison.

John sporadically attended the Liverpool Institute and it is here that he met Cynthia Powell. George and Paul attended the College of Art. Beatles fans may wish to visit for a photo op but nothing more.
