The Queen Victoria Monument is without a shadow of a doubt one of the landmark monuments in Liverpool.
Constructed on the site of the former Liverpool Castle ,the monument was the work of F.M Simpson and is a great example of Neo Baroque architecture and sculpting, the statue of Queen Victoria and the other 26 statues that make up this monument were the work of sculptor C.J Allen and all the figures depicted on the monument are finely detailed, its a beautiful monument to behold and well worth checking out if you're planning a holiday to Liverpool, its a monument easy to locate along Derby Square.

Heading to The Captain Alexander Pub on a beautiful and warm June afternoon I passed the Queen Victoria Monument ,one of the most famous monuments in our city.
Unveiled in 1906 ,designed by F.M Simpson and mostly sculptured by C.J Allen ,it's a wonderful monument to one of our most popular monarchs ,including the statue of Queen Victoria there are 26 statue's on the monument,I haven't viewed it for a while but it looks like it's had a clean up ,not sure but it looked amazing in the blazing sunshine,if you're near Derby Square it's a monument to most definitely check out.

This large monument would have once been nothing less than magnificent. Grafitti now adorns and spoils it. Liverpool has much to offer but the general state of cleaning and maintenance of the public realm lets it down in some parts.

This beautiful memorial serves as a magnificent entry to the grounds of the Buckingham Palace. The monument
is 82 feet high and uses 2,300 tons of white marble. The details on Victoria's statue as well as the statues representing courage, victory and truth are spectacularly detailed. The statue was created between the years 1906-1924.

A nice large monument to Queen Victoria, which when viewed from a certain angle the sceptre she is holding looks like she has a male appendage poking out.
I would not have noticed this if it had not been pointed out by our tour guide, but once you see it, it is hard not to see it
The central figure of Queen Victoria stands beneath a dome, surrounded by four groups of clustered pillars, each bearing at the top an allegorical group, with a summit figure of Victory. The whole stands raised on a series of steps, and at the bottom of these are raised four pedestals, each bearing a larger group
A bit out of the way, but worth taking time to look at it
