It's literally just a meeting point. Every local who has ever met up with anyone in Leicester centre, has probably agreed to meet at the clock tower. Why? Is it that the clock tower can be seen from a good portion of streets surrounding it?...More

We used this as our reference point during our visit to Leicester. It is really easy to find and it makes other places really easy to find too! It is a centre point in town, and a lot of activities happen there.

Ok it’s at the junction of five now pedestrianised streets and features some famous people connected with Leicester...although there isn’t much evidence that Simon de Montfort ever came to the city! It’s a convenient meeting place and on the day we were there some music...More

Walking past at 9.45 this morning (Wednesday 24th October) the crowd of drunk/drugged up men was larger than normal, and surprisingly aggressive au early in the day. My wife and I had just walked past with our two-year old boy when their dispute escalated and...More

Walking through Leicester City centre, we stopped off to admire the Haymarket Memorial Clock Tower. Very impressive and well preserved - through very crowded on a sunny Saturday in August!

Could be a nice spot, however Leicestershire larger inhabitants cluster and rest their wheezing bodies on benches and spark one up and puff away over their pushchairs. Don't hang about here.

Smack in the centre. Streets full of shops radiate from the Clock Tower. You'll find everything you need, up to 10 minutes from here.

Generations of Leicester folk have used this as a meeting point. Sadly the area around it (Belgrave Gate) is a bit run down with lots of Pound shop try shops/rough sleepers. However not far to the Shires or whatever they call the big shoppig centre...More

Recognisable local landmark and meeting place - all roads lead to it. As well as serving this useful purpose it seems increasingly to attract people selling God, timeshares, charitable sign ups etc and as such a place to be navigated past carefully, in addition to...More
