Visited Belvoir castle in April , enjoying the grounds that were so beautiful with all the Spring flowers. Really well kept grounds that are a photographers dream! The castle has a lovely tea room ( reasonably priced) and some interesting rooms. The guided tours are an additional £4. Can't comment on the tour as did not purchase this. However, for... More

We have been many times always surprised by the progress of the gardens. The Castle is beautiful and the atmosphere is mesmerising. We came one time in the winter with some American friends, this visit was arranged by ringing the estate office. Our friends were entranced they had never been inside a Castle! We will be back.

A lovely afternoon with our mums - both mid 70's. You need to be fairly fit to walk round the gardens as lots of steps and hills. One word of warning - make sure you leave BEFORE 5.30 - we were at the exit at 5.30 and found ourselves locked in! We had to climb over a fence to get... More

As a Leicester born person Belvoir Castle is well known to me. Prior to visiting yesterday the last time I was there was in the 1970's. I was therefore very pleasantly surprised to notice all the improvements. I remembered the castle as dusty, grubby dark and cold but found instead a clean, warm, bright and obviously cared for home to... More

Beautiful castle and gardens to explore. We arrived early and got tickets before the queue started. Lovely walk around the very elegant castle, lots of info boards around for reading or tours if wanted more details. The gardens are well signed with arrows pointing out the different walking routes. The gardens are beautiful, though some might find it hilly. Lovely... More

If you have an mobility problems ask at the ticket office for a pass that will entitle you to drive up to the castle and avoid a long climb. Once there, there are no mobility problems except perhaps for wheel chairs. The castle is well cared for and the public rooms fascinating. If like me you enjoy fine art then... More

Visited on 02/04/17 with local friends and instantly thought the place was stunning. On walking up the hill we were greeted by hawks and owls, beautiful. Not the cheapest of days out but don't mind paying a bit extra knowing it helps preserve these places for future generations. The castle is stunning and in a fabulous position. However, felt a... Dear Becky, Thank you for taking time to review. We are so pleased you enjoyed your visit, but sorry to hear you were disappointed with the gardens. The gardens are at the beginning of a 15 year restoration program, so most of the work has been concentrated renovating, clearing and planting. We can now boast 26 acres of pleasure grounds... More

When you first view the castle in the sunlight the yellow stone looks beautiful as you drive towards it, the views and position of the castle are amazing, bit of a steep climb from the carpark but benches along the way for those who need them, the castle is breathtaking inside, so well kept and maintained, try and walk the... The guided tour is well done and gives a good insight into life below stairs. Lots of interesting facts beyond what you see on TV series
