Came here to see a brass band. Not my usual source of entertainment but when you sit down and look around and marvel at the splendour of this magnificent place anything that happens here as to be good. The architecture oozes nostalgia of a bygone era. A time when entertainment came from real people playing real instruments and interacting with... More

Absolutely fabulous Panto, the best ever, never mind going to London or Manchester to see Z listed stars, the cast of Aladin at the Grand theatre are fantastic, it is so funny, the cast have a professional knack to audience participation, the singing suberp, the band & dancers are really good but the STAR of the show has to be... I visited on the new years day performance at 7pm. Seating was c row , reasonable stage view, but in hindsight, would be better on a f-h row. Performance...reasonable, but it seemed that the cast were directing their performance to the lower circle seating, and stalls were invisible. This was most noticable from the male lead, with a weak performance... More

We booked to see Aladdin paid for seats chose where we wanted to sit and turned up for the performance. After discussing seating when booking the seats the nice lady forgot to advise there are 40 steps up to our seats even though we advised I was disabled and no lift !! So getting to our seats only to find... More

I must begin this review by pointing out that the pantomime itself was fantastic, thoroughly enjoyable with a great cast and loved by the kids and adults are like. Unfortunately this was marred by our experience beginning with speaking to the most on helpful person possible at the box office, it seems as if booking a ticket is actually a... More

This is a beautiful old theatre both inside and out, the seat's can feel quite hard if you're used to comfort but it's part of the character and age of this building. The cast and crew of the Aladdin Pantomime did a great job this year we look forward to seeing next year's on Christmas Eve.

An absolutely beautifully designed theatre! Seats are a little old, but they fit the decor: can be quite stiff/snappy and there isn't always a lot of leg room. BACKSTAGE the stairs under the theatre are INCREDIBLY slippy; if you're performing, DO NOT wear shoes on the stairs. Also, there are limited toilets. I love viewing and performing shows here

I went on the Heritage Tour yesterday with three friends and what an amazing experience it was. The tour lasted 90 minutes and we were taken all over the theatre by some very enthusiastic and knowledgeable guides who made the experience a joy. We sat in the Stalls, the Dress Circle and the Gods which anyone can do on a... More

Can really recommend the tour. The guides were excellent and so dedicated. You could really feel their love for this beautiful historic building. I learnt so much about this fascinating place. We are so lucky to have it and the staff and Friends of the Grand are to be congratulated for keeping it in such pristine condition.
