Just a 30 min walk to the top for great views of the Lake and area. Good path all the way but gets a little rocky at the top

Though a hard hike in early spring due to mud and steepness at the end, it was worth it to see the 360-degree view of the area including Windermere and the lake. Take windproof clothing, because at the top it can be very windy.

Stunning hike to the top of orrest head with stunning views at the top well worth it..sensible shoes required as some gentle climbing up rocky steps required or a longer path leads up but well worth it

For those less capable of tackling the bigger fells, this little hil on the outskirts of Windermere offers an enjoyable walk and fantastic views up and down the lake and all the way across to the Scafell range and Langdale Pikes. The rocks on the summit can get a bit slippery when there's ice on the ground.

It was very easy and pleasant to hike the place. I hiked by wearing my sneakers! The view en route was amazing. Unfortunately, it was very foggy when I went to Orrest Head since it rained earlier in the morning. Nevertheless, it was very calming up there. Will go again, if you ask.

Lovely short walk with great views of lake Windermere, we walked it during February and the ground was wet and muddy in areas so would advise wearing proper hiking footwear. at the top there are several benches to sit on and take in the views.
