The weather was a bit rainy, but the railway path was not muddy, and gave us a good route to walk in to town away from the traffic.

Nice walk, but you cannot get very far on it. If you try to take it to the Stone Circle, a route recommended in pre-2015 guide books, a bridge you'd have to cross is washed out and impassable.

The dis-used railway line path remains closed at two places due to bridges being washed away. From the planning applications seen on the pathways they are nearing the start of the reinstatement.

Staying in a nearby holiday villiage we used this path to walk into town. It was very pleasant with birds and dog walkers.

Instead of following the busy road into town, the old railway footpath makes for a pleasant, casual stroll in a green, quiet environment.

A leisurely walk on a wide path formed by former railway track with lots of greenery, crossing the river. Lots of dog walkers and locals. A great place to stroll with an ice cream cone

Third time lucky! My first attempt included a URL, which is not allowed. Not absolutely sure why my second was rejected. So ... This really is a great walk. It has fairly gentle gradients and so is accessible by wheelchairs and mobility scooters. It starts...More

Sorry, the path is not paved. The good news is that it should be OK for a bike with stabilisers. The path is both flat and even and the surface is well compacted with occasional stretches of gravel. My wife's mobility... More

You can use a wheel chair on some of the route starting from the old railway station but you might want to confirm at the Keswick tourist office.
