My family and I had a fabulous day. Mick, the man who ran the day, was great. Very informative, telling us how to identify poisonous mushrooms, naming the different trees and expertly demonstrating how to light fires using different materials. as well as giving us a crash course in how to steer our canoes. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience and highly... More

My ten year old daughter and I had a 5 day break in the lakes and booked a few activities, one of which was Canoe the View with Keswick Canoe and Bushcraft. Our instructor, Mick/Rick? (sorry!), was fantastic. He knew the lake and islands very well and was full of enthusiasm. Got the feeling he had done it 1000 times,... More

What a great experience! Graham, our canoe instructor, had such a friendly manner, and soon had us learning the ins and outs of canoeing on Derwentwater before we headed down the middle section of the River Derwent to Bassenthwaite. We saw kingfishers, surfed the weir, and negotiated the rapids, before stopping for a well earned tea break. A fab day,... More

This was the second time I have booked with Keswick Canoe and Bushcraft, the first time was fantastic so this time I arranged for a private Canoe the View trip with other members of my family, ten in total including my nine year old grandson, soon to be ten. We had Paul once more as our guide. I was a... More

Myself and my wife spent a day on a canoeing and bushcraft day. Our instructor Paul was brilliant, he made the day special with his enthusiasm and knowledge. We started the day learning how to identify plants trees and which are best for lighting fires. And then we were island hopping across the lake in the canoes. stopping for lunch... More

Fun day out for a family of four (with two teenage daughters). We discovered that canoeing isn't one of our top family skills but we still made it up and down the lake without to much trouble. Great stop off with a touch of bushcraft instruction and a welcome cup of tea!

Myself, 2 friends and our 5 kids (aged 7-13) went canoeing with our guide 'Paul' on Derwent Water. We all absolutely loved it and as mentioned in other reviews Paul was great with the kids and his knowledge about the history of lake and its islands, the wildlife and the lake district as a whole all added to our experience.... We booked a bushcrafting shelter, fire and marshmallows session during a week's trip to the lakes for 2 adults and four children (between 6 and 8). Our instructor (Mick) was excellent with kids and kept them engaged and interested throughout the half day session, teaching them (and us!) about different trees in the forest, how to set up a campsite,... On May 22nd, a group of us, in eight canoes spent a fantastic day with Paul and Beau (Bo?) of Keswick Canoe and Bushcraft. Everything about the day was perfect. We're a group that gets together once a year for a canoe trip, but I think this was one of our best. From the excellence of the canoes, to the... More
