We spent an hour here looking around the house and listening to one of the ladies playing the piano. Will definitely be back to visit the gardens.

Slightly off the beaten track, north of Keswick, I would definitely recommend. Visit on the afternoons when the house is open. A joint ticket for house and gardens at about £8 is well worth the money. The garden ticket is £4, not expensive, but it...More

The house was closed on the day of our visit so just did the gardens. I think they have been without a gardener for a long time as very unkempt and lots of work needed to bring it up to scratch. Even the dry conditions...More
