Thoroughly enjoyed the day spent with Gareth along with 5 other enthusiasts learning how to make our own bench using hand tools, basic and advanced skills. Gareth was very helpful and patient with us all and we were rewarded with a great piece of furniture to take home with us. I would definitely recommend Gareth and Ro to anyone young and... More

My husband and I had a fantastic, memorable day on the benchmaking course with Woodmatters. Gareth is an excellent teacher with just the right amount of imput at the right time. With only six people on the course we never felt as though we were waiting around for help. Neither of us had ever done anything similar before and we... More

Just come back from the low canopy course with my 8 year old son. Had an absolutely amazing time, learnt lots of news skills like safe knife work, lighting fires and some useful camping crafts. The course leaders, Gareth and Ro, are so friendly and helpful and really know their stuff. A good gauge of how much he enjoyed it... More

Received a greenwood bench making day as a present from my wife. Fantastic day, lots if brews, good company and walked away with new skills. Will definitely look at taking part in another course.

Awesome courses which can be enjoyed by the whole family. Great value for money. Have been on five of these now and loved each one. Ideal for youngsters and teens.

I have done a couple of courses with wood matters one coppicing and one charcoal making and enjoyed them both. If you want to know about woodland and what to do and how to do it they have plenty of good courses. Relaxed atmosphere and happy staff who are enthusiastic to share their knowledge. Eat lunch round a fire, plenty... More

The Woodmatters bush craft course was one of the highlights of our year. Sleeping in a den in the woods is a childhood dream but somehow hard to do in reality, especially with really small children. The support and encouragement given by the Woodmatters crew, coupled with the beautiful setting just gave us the nudge we needed to make it... More

Heard about this through a friend. Lots of courses available but we did a weekend of family bush craft.... Kids (and us) actually making shelters in the wood and sleeping out plus loads of new skills like fire starting, animal tracking, tool and charcoal making.... No to mention chilling out round the fire in the evening... We have camped a... More
