kirkby lonsdale is very picturesque but it is small and whilst all the shops are ocupied it is a bit limited, nice for an hours look, kendal sadly is suffering the same as all biggish towns with retailers dissapering , the small indoor shopping area...More

Yes there are. I have a back problem myself and steep walks are out of the question, but there are plenty of level paths, so don’t be put off!
