Got a bit lost trying to find it as sign posts from town stop after a certain point. The way we went meant going up a hill and there were steps to go up to get towards the castle. It was very cloudy day but...More

Was a lovely walk up to the castle and the view was fantastic. Plenty of space to walk around and view all the surrounding hills and town of Kendal. Great place to fly a kite! Castle remains are very interesting,

Great day out. The castle is not too far from the city centre and it’s dog friendly too. Great view of Kendal!

Not exactly a short walk from the town centre, but worth the 20 to 30 minutes it takes you. Good views of the surrounding countryside, and decent ruins at the top of the hill.

Beautiful castle ruins with amazing views over Kendal. There are a number of information boards around the castle and dogs are welcome to roam the grounds too. There are steep inclines all around the ruins... so be prepared for a climb!

We followed the signs from the city, but got drawn into an industrial estate. When we did find the very small signs we went through another industrial area before finding the right route and then realised our footwear, and my legs weren't suitable for the...More
