Worth the effort, as with the whole lake district a bit of huffing and puffing up an incline is required. Basic ruins remain, the out castle wall still in tact. Some story boards scattered about with castle information about what it may have looked like,...More

If you are feeling fit take a walk up to the ruined castle, where you will see stunning views of the countryside. It's well worth the effort, and fabulous for the dogs.

This is a lovely old castle ruin, within easy walking distance of the town. Well worth a visit, and has lots of info about how it used to be

Quiet place to visit, only the shell of the castle remains. A short climb up to castle as you would expect. Good views on a clear day. If walking from town you can watch skiers using the dry ski slope on your way up.

I have got arthritis but could manage the walk from car park to hill top . Castle ruin amazing and views stunning . You can see Peak District in distance . Well worth a trip. We have two older dogs who loved the walk too
