Enjoyed a nice walk round the ruins (what was left of them). Bet it is absolutely lovely in the summer! We went after a lot of heavy rain and snow, so it was very muddy!!

very little of it left, consider it a place to walk back from. The area it is in is nice. Lots of dog walkers and families.

There are several routes up to the castle and it is well worth the climb. The relics are interesting and there are good views over Kendal. An added bonus is that it is free!

I have passed this castle driving on the A 591 so many times that I finally decided to take a visit. Parking is easy and there are several access points. I climbed the steepest section to get to the castle - you’ll need good stout...More

Whilst not particularly worth going out of your way for, if you are in Kendal, it is a nice thing to do for half an hour to gain elevated views over the town and across the hills.

We happened to go on a really clear day, and it was fantastic! Lovely views from the top and some informative signage about the history of the castle etc. We took our puppy and he loved it too! Would recommend going, doesn’t take long!
