I am not sure what I was expecting, the website makes it look as though the topiary goes on for miles, it's not all that large. Not saying it's not impressive, it is a lovely garden, but so expensive to get in. I paid the...More

Dear Natasha Thank you for your review of Levens Hall. It sounds as though you came here with slightly higher expectations than most. You compared us to Arundel Castle and Beaulieu, which are quite frankly well out of our league in terms of what they...More

After visiting the gardens take a walk along the river on the other side of the road. There you will see some of the most amazing trees I have ever seen.

The gardens are really superb. The topiary is awsome and it has the first known HaHa. The house is interesting and together they make a good day out in all but the worst weather. I liked the cafe which small but had a good selection...More

This a a fabulous place and my wife and I spent a very pleasant time here. The small collection of steam vehicles, which includes several traction engines, are typically running on Sundays and Bank Holidays.

Levens Hall offers access to the grand house and to the gardens, both formal gardens and the extensive wacky topiary. It is all lovely. Not very extensive though. The house provides some explanation and guidance, although in some places more would have been welcome. However...More

Lovely Elizabethan house and gardens. The gardens were lovely even on a slightly rainy day. The house is very nice with the Elizabethan equivalent of wall paper, selected furniture and art work. The house appears homely as the family still lives there.

Levens Hall has been on our 'bucket list' for quite a while and totally lived up to expectations. All beautifully kept, not too big and full of fascinating treasures. Superb gardens. Very good tea room (We enjoyed the home made fish cakes.) Very informative guides...More
