We visited in Feb 17 to see Livewire. The Arts Centre is very easy to find, and has a bar and restaurant plus a cinema too. For a small market town like Kendal this is a massive boost for trade and a good focal point for community events. The main function room has a very low ceiling so the stage... More

Can't recommend this enough, ate sweet potato and herb soup. Delicious and inexpensive. Service cute, and a sun trap warm enough to eat outside in mid February in Cumbria. Beautiful site well worth looking at.

Went to watch a film here but had the meal deal before hand in their restaurant. Plenty of choice and food was nicely presented. Staff were very helpful and friendly and the service offered was excellent.

Ordered pizzas as part of the real deal with cinema tickets. Only ordered pizzas and took about 45 minutes to arrive and then they were wrong! Waitress seemed very uneasy and not sure what she was doing? Pizzas were ok but nothing out of this world. Good deal if your going to the cinema but leave a lot of time... More

This is the sort of place you would find in a city, not a country town. It offers 3 cinemas [4 if they are showing in the theatre], theatre, restaurant and two bars. The whole place in family friendly. Live music is on every week, local bands are popular. Comedy club which has some big names [Jimmy Carr coming soon].... More

Our first visit to the Grainstore Restaurant and Brewery Arts Centre was so enjoyable we are looking forward to the next time. Great food and atmosphere at the restaurant, friendly service. The contemporary dance we saw was excellent and the experience as a whole was really good. Booking tickets, the restaurant and customer service throughout was perfect.

Just as I was being to tire of the same old food in the Grainstore a new menu has been introduced which is a vast improvement. The choice is very good with a lot of interesting and healthy dishes.

First we saw the film - really just a standard cinema - but then we moved to the restaurant and enjoyed an excellent meal. So convenient to have the whole evening in one place. Lovely quiet atmosphere - no background music - wonderful.
