There are nice, easy walks close to the lake but no path all the way around. Climb higher on the west side for lovely views down.

From Rydal or White Moss this easy walk takes a permissive lakeside route on the west shore, graet for swimming in late summer.

Simply wonderful like so much of the Lakes, Grasmere has so many viewpoints from which to stand and stare and the green luxury of the waters and the fells reflected in it.

One of many beautiful lakes in this area. It's one of the smallest of the lakes, and it's easy to walk around it. It's possible to rent a boat and explore the lake, but we were told to stay off the privately owned island, Together...More

2 to 3 hours. Not the best along the road section. You can cross the road though and pick up a trail/road and walk back into Grasmere (Town End) from behind White Moss Car park. Part of the old coffin trail. Enjoy!

Yes most of the path is accessible. I remember we had to cross a shallow stream on the beach bit but if you're ok with that it will be ok. There is a path through some woods which was decking type but you may need to carry... More
