A nice walk from Ambleside (around a mile), this is a nice place to chill, have a drink or enjoy the water sports. Catch the boat from here to Bowness.

Situated right on Windermere lake - can park up by boat and walk straight into the restaurant for food and drinks. Great to sit outside on a summers day

It's also the best location to be central to the 2 main roads in the lakes, taking you towards Keswick or Hawkshead

We enjoyed strolling along to the Waterhead and and sitting soaking up the views, so relaxing. The weather could have been better, it was not overly warm, and at times overcast, but did not detract from the enjoyment

Much enhanced waterside frontage, with a lot of reconstruction having taken place since the floods of December 2015. Nice seating and a good cafe for eats and ice creams.

Perfect place to watch the world go by or take a steamer trip around the lake, several packages to choose from or just a roving day ticket
