for a town that used the local spring as a tourist attraction for years. the town seems to have gone off promoting this side and no longer spends the money needed to maintain it. one of the small baths off the london raod seems to have been turned into a litter bin. very disappointed!!

Of historical interest but now quite easy to miss and somewhat underwhelming. I'm not sure really what might be done as, after all, it is just a spring, but it surely deserves to be something more than just an adjunct to a shopping spree in The Pantiles

I was born in RTW (1964) and grew up near The Pantiles. I spent many a day at The Springs with my friends, drinking the water out of the old tin cup that was chained to the wall there and splashing each other. In the summer the dippers were there telling people about the waters and it was fun. Now!!!... More

The Chalybeate spring used to be the main reason visitors came to RTW, however, now you could easily visit and miss it. Sadly, whilst it is of historic interest, it is not well maintained and is a poor reflection of the lovely town. On a more positive note, at peak times there is usually a very helpful guide, in full... More

I am from Tunbridge Wells and this has to be one of its most underwhelming 'attractions', not least - as other reviewers have noted - because it is the very reason the town exists. It hardly ever seems open either so if you want to 'take the waters' you'll be lucky to find a dipper (usually someone looking bored dressed... More

Taking visitors to this is a real embarrassment. Given it's the reason Tunbridge Wells exists. Showing visitors a concrete basin covered in a very grubby glass dome with a placard above is such a non event. The council should be ashamed of themselves.

The Pantiles, a lovely georgian colonade is a great place to relax with a pint or a cuppa and cake. As well as various restaurants to enjoy look out for the timing of a range a diverse events. HOWEVER when it comes to the actual spring, its not much more than a hole in the ground and let's just say... More

The place is nice in itself but it would be better if the spring spa was open to the public the pantiles are worth a look just for the Victorian fronts

We have visited Royal Tunbridge Wells on numerous occasions and every time walk along 'The Pantiles' past this historic site in the direction of The Church of King Charles the Martyr. Although there is an information plaque at the site giving the history (and contrary to some rather ignorant reviews on here the spring has not 'dried up') only once,... More
