Really nice stations on the route. Authentically dressed staff and trains were great - just like going back in time. We purchased a family ticket via GroupOn which meant it was only £15 (instead of about £27 I believe) for a return trip. Note: We were told that if you purchase via groupon you had to go on the first... More

The spa valley railway is an ok railway mostly because I was traveling in Kate their bar car and the seats in Kate were very dirty with left over food in the seats and on the floor. The locomotive in service was CNB no 19. She was a beautiful locomotive but at Erige I was quite disappointed when a diesel... More

Arrived at ticket office to be served by a lovely gentleman dressed in his uniform, all the train volunteers had there uniforms on so helped the trip more special,we had the steam train take us the full route which was great with the smells and noises even hearing the carriage doors slam shut ( music to my ears) we got off... Visited Sat 11th Feb for the Paw Patrol experience. The entertainment before the train journey was okay, some face painting and colouring. Got on the train which was quaint and a step into the past....all going well so far. Then halfway through the train journey when we're in the middle of our lunch our entire carriage was told we had... More

Knowing the Spa Valley Railway is run by volunteers I do feel bad giving it an average review but this is the review I wish I had read before our Paw Patrol trip on Saturday. First of all I can't fault the staff (all very friendly and enthusiastic) or the state of the trains (the steam train and both sets... More

We took a friend on one of the special weekend events aimed at real ale and the 1940's, experience was fantastic we took a steam train to the end of the line and back again, the steam trains are great the smell and old carriages. As it was an Ale weekend they did run a little low on other alcoholic... More

Great day had by the whole family. The kids loved this steam train as did Grandad. to ride in the old carriages pulled by a steam train certainly brought back memories. This is a must visit for people of all ages visiting Tunbridge wells, Very friendly staff.

Family outing to this lovely railway on a pre Christmas Santa Special. Great location, friendly helpful staff, the train was beautifully decorated, the afternoon tea was a delight, beautifully presented in wicker baskets, endless cups of great tea to drink. Wonderful train with steam and diesel engines. Fantastic afternoon out on a lovely restored nostalgic railway, Fully Recommend and will... More

As a family we enjoy events on well run preserved railways. Unfortunately the Spa Valley Railway where we went for a Mince Pie Special on 27th December turned out a great disappointment. It was a cold day, the carriages were sitting in the platform, a steam locomotive - named Ugly appropriately for our experience! - was ready but nobody had... More

Dear 6026, Thank you for coming to visit us, and for your feedback. Whilst it is always disheartening to see the efforts of a voluntary operation disparaged, you have some valid points which I hope I can address: The root of the problem on the day of your visit was two-fold. Firstly, to accommodate the demand for seats on our... More

Today we attended a 'Santa Special' at the Railway and, as always, had a lovely afternoon. The station at Eridge was very busy when we arrived but there were lots of staff on hand to point us in the right direction. A lovely countryside journey while being visited by Santa, a balloon modeller, a snack trolley and then a face... More
