A busy fishing harbour, best visited at high tide when the boats are unloading. Take a look at the lifeboat, admire the yachts, the border force cutter, fishery protection vessel and the Royal Navy patrol boat (trains officers) and then take a wander along the...More

this harbour, perfectly protected by the tall cliffs, is part of the downtown with restaurants and bars embracing it. we enjoy watching the working boats and pleasure crafts lazily waiting to go back at sea

You can walk around most of the harbour, seeing everything from fishing boasts to small pleasure craft, gin-palaces to barges, pilot boats to windfarm support boats, border force and fisheries protection boats, to the RNLI all-weather lifeboat 'Esme Anderson'

Visits to Ramsgate always hold a surprise. This time it was a gift shop - Elephant in the room. Nothing I wouldn't buy here. "Gift shop" is a misnomer. It's an Aladdins cave of really well chosen items. No tat.

Lived in the town from 1945 (born) until 1965 and want to make return visits. As a disabled badge holder where could I park for the harbour and beach etc?
