Nothing wrong with this museum but I prefer my history more modern. Really enjoyed the Bronze Age boat gallery and the fascinating story of its find. My favourite part was the small exhibition about Channel swimmers which was tucked away and could easily be missedMore

Came to see the Dover boat (I'm a fan of Time Team) but ended up spending a couple of hours there. Free entrance, everything to do with the history of the town clearly presented and explained.

Yes the wooden boat is well preserved and well explained. It was discovered nearby during excavations and is historically very important.
