A lovely pub for meeting old friends and new family for my brothers pre wedding drinks. The staff were very well versed in the wines and the atmosphere was lovely. Very quaint and hospitality fantastic. Thank you. :)

This is really a tourist pub given it's location in a medieval alley from the High Street leading up to the Cathedral. This is a very old building which has been sensitively modernised without losing it's character. Obviously full of tourists but still with a...More

Canterbury has a lot of good places to eat but many know their pulling power and charge substantial amounts for not much: not so the Shakespeare. Here food is good and reasonably priced and served by friendly engaging staff. We loved it. Two tips: 1...More

The place looks lovely and the staff are very friendly. I had a lovely tasting super healthy veggie salad on a whim and so felt rather pleased with myself. The only negative was that my pint seemed a little tired but perhaps I caught them...More

Dropped in here for lunch on a business trip. Hadn't looked at reviews just happened to be walking past. The burgers were amazing and served with huge chunky chips. Was very impressed and will be back next time I'm in Canterbury!

Stopped here after a horrendous experience with Citi terrace. Staff were friendly and attentive at the bar. Porn star martini good and reasonably priced (£6.95) (was a little disappointed there was no passionfruit flotter in it). Decor is nice and atmosphere chilled. Also an outside...More

Situated in a lane between the main Parade and Burgate we found this pub whilst wandering early one Tuesday evening. It was not very busy, save for a few students discussing accomodation, the decor is scrubbed wooden tables and benches at the front. We opted...More
