Lovely!

Walk through it. Read on the remembrance monuments. Look at all the flowers and plants. Feel the touch of an English city park. Sit down and breath. What a feeling!

We walked along the Great Stour Way from Chartham and finished our walk at Westgate Gardens. This is a pleasant open space and whilst there wasn't much life in the Winter month of January it was still enjoyable.

We spotted these gardens when doing the city wall walk. They are well maintained and perfect picnic areas for the warmer summer months. There was also a children's play area close by. Lovely to walk through whatever the weather.

It is worth taking a detour to walk through the Westgate Gardens for the Baobab Tree, lovely gardens and then under the bridge to Toddler's Cover where there are some beautiful pictures and poems.

Westgate Gardens is a superbly maintained and presented Park, and it could quite easily be the best in Canterbury, if you need swings etc. for the kids there is Toddlers Cove just a short walk away (next to the river as an added bonus) I love going here in the summer and highly recommend it if you're visiting!

Lovely walks around here in the summer and the winter seasons. There are punting tours and other boat trips and there are many local places to choose to eat.

often walk here with friends and family before heading into Canterbury for Sunday lunch. Its a walk that's as long or as short as you want and there is plenty of things to keep the young ones mind occupied along the river bank.

Very nice and most visited place close to the heart of the city. There's a paddling tour along the river. Very good place for taking picture and also children can play around in that area. From this place can walk around 10 mins to Canterbury Cathedral.

No shelter, but then this is a garden! Linear walk or make it a circular one and add to the walk by taking... More

After a long day of sightseeing around Canterbury, this is the place to relax, unwind and reflect on times gone by. The beautifully kept gardens are perfectly in keeping with the city. Thousands, if not millions, of tourists pilgrims and perhaps even crusaders will have visited this site. For it to have escaped the clutches of developers is a miracle... More
