Always a treat to walk along the river and enjoy the local wildlife at any time of year. Great to get away from traffic and find some peace and quiet.

Westgate Gardens is a delightful place to walk through and to sit in the warmer months. These award winning gardens are maintained to a high standard by the Council and are most pleasant. You can take a river trip or just stroll. At the bottom is Toddlers Cove which is a well appointed playground for children.

Was exhibiting in the park as one of many stall holders at an art in the park exhibition. Great number of visitors and also the surroundings very pretty. Great park to sit and read, have a gentle stroll or grab a coffee and chill.

Westgate gardens has a beautiful set up close to the river Stour. There is a toddlerscares with playground apparatus. The underpass which was dark and dreary was illustrated by the Fresh Start calligraphy group, of which I'm a member earlier in the year. The city is within walking distance via the underpass. See the illustrations on your way through. Also... More

Even if you are just walking across the bridge by Westgate Tower it is an attractive view up the river. The flower beds are well designed and cared for and a relaxing and pleasant walk along the river bank if you have time.

A restful get-away from tourist mania. We use it as a place for reflection. Walk, stroll or jog, just enjoy it.

A wonderful beauty spot in the heart of Canterbury. You can pass the wonderful West gate tower and a remain of another gate while you admire the crystal clear waters of the river Cam where you can take a river tour from Spring to late Autum.
