I came upon the Painted Room by chance and was pleased to be in time for a short talk about its discovery and the history of the house and its former occupants.

A small place with so much to see. The restoration is exceptional. The passion of the story teller is exceptional. Well worth having a look and giving a donation.

This marvellous room, discovered when refurbishment was being carried out, is just amazing for its detail. Not always open (as it's a venue for civil wedding ceremonies) and up some steep stairs, but worth the effort and the wait.More
