We had intended to visit Hereford for years, and never got round to it, should have done it earlier. The history is super, the guides were extremely helpful, both in explaining the mappa mundi, and the chain library. It is only a small exhibition, but...More

Get up close to these historic documents. A very well set out display with informative information and guides. You coul spend months looking at Mappa Mundi, and still see different things.

A very early attempt to capture a whole world view and much more- history, cities, peoples. Made before the great european voyages of discovery in the 15th and 16th centuries so a mediterranean-centric view of things is only to be expected!
