The Hyde Tavern is a small and quaint pub, it is homely and welcoming, it serves a good selection of real ales, so I was in heaven. Again this is a pub I used as a youngster - so I am so pleased to see...More

Just around the corner from our barely adequate hotel, we stumbled upon this excellent little local. Eclectic clientele, live music, superb ale. And apparently a relatively recent rescue from failing pub status by the engaging landlady. Perfection.

A warm welcome from the locals backed up by a good choice of real ale. Nice garden. Sensible prices compared to lots of Winchester

We kind of fell upon this place! We saw a sign that said beer festival and it happened to be in the cellar of this lovely little pub. We were welcomed by Pete who recommended a beer and rhubarb cider. We then headed down to...More

Unpretentious and lively. Quirky but well run. The high class music acts in the cellar are well worth checking out, but there are a plethora of other clubs and groups. Or just enjoy fine ales and a traditional, convivial and female-friendly ambience. Nice garden too.

A really, really good pub. It's got character, charm and excellent beer by the bucket load. I had a great evening with friends and whilst they don't do food you can order a takeaway and for £1.00 per person they will supply plates and cutlery,...More

I last was in the Hyde Tavern twenty years ago. I'm delighted that it hasn't been 'improved'. The place has immense character. Beer is top class, obviously well looked after and turns over. No piped music. No jukebox. No pool table. Just the bubble of...More

Great local cask beer, occasional live music, no pretensions, friendly landlady and a wicked line in pork scratchings .
