A well used and valued community park towards the boundary of the old Shirley and Southampton parish boundaries. Packed with several different use areas, it offers a great deal for a relatively small amount of space.

If you take the over all size of the space, you would not think it amounted to much. As they saying goes, dynamite comes in small packages. There is a good size grass area used at various days/times by dog walkers, footballers, weekend family picnics....More

There is a great adventure playground which suits all ages. My son was taking part in sport here and had s great time as part of “Park lives matter.”

its a very good park with cafe and plenty of activities for kids. if you dont know how to keep your kids busy, take them there!

St. James park is located off Winchester Road in the area of Shirley, Southampton. It is a medium recreational park that has a cafe serving refreshments and is in a residential area. The park was landscaped and opened in 1911.

Been here 3 times so far - lots for our youngest (2) and for our older kids - 7,10 + 11. Can get v busy on sunnier days but climbing walls, big slides, zip wire and more. Reasonable cafe too.
