This is a good value ferry but the pier is in a state and really needs some cash spending on it - looks really scruffy which is a shame as it could be a nice little pier even without using the ferry as it's a...More

Used to commute across on the Ferry years ago. Now it is for the odd day trip with the kids, or the market. The train is lovey, and the old pier is something we recommend seeing

Loved the old pier and railway at the Hythe end. The ferry is looking a bitvtired but I guess thats not surprising due to its age and probable lack of funds to maintain it? Still worth a trip to see the cruise liners up close.

Took a return trip to see the cruise ships. Not many passengers on board. Used the train back along the pier. Nice way to travel. Lots to see. Useful to get into Southampton.
