The barman was exceptionally rude when I asked to try the beers and appeared not to want my custom whatsoever. I had asked to try one or two, since, as a “specialty beer” emporium, the beers were unknown to me. The barman became irate after...More

Discovered [tba] about a couple of years ago and keep coming back when I can. Not often enough! The guv'nor puts effort into sourcing interesting beers from various small and mostly local brewers. The beer is well kept and reasonably priced. There is usually a...More

One of the original and best micro pubs in Southampton. Very laid back and welcoming. I’ve been many times with friends but this visit I was on my own, sat in the window catching up on some work while sampling some cracking beer and was...More

This is a great ale house that ale drinkers and like minded individuals frequent, a friendly atmosphere with staff who are very apt at recommending and describing the drinks on sale.

A great little pub with a good selection of real ales. Noticed as I was walking past and popped in for pint. The pub is only small but I managed to get a seat as it was only mid-week. There was a good mix of...More

A semi regular customer for nearly a year, the bookshop alehouse offers a huge choice of ales, lager and cider. Offering a friendly atmosphere in a niche setting, this is one of the best micro pubs around.
