From Portsmouth, we've walked past several times, but today, on our Pokemon walk with my Daughter, we noticed the church was open, and free to enter. I was blown away with the beauty, the lady was very informative and told us it was now owned by national heritage and told us the history. Open Tuesday -sat until September I believe,... More

Yes a church but what fun little thing to find at the side of the sea front, full of history for a building so cute and small. Free admission but what you get for free is worth more then that you can see what the army did there to rebuild what they could and it's just beutiful.

We unexpectedly visited the church today whilst on a walk with our children, having lived in Portsmouth most of my life I'd never visited before. It was really interesting to see inside which has lots to look at and lots of history to read about. The main think that made our experience superb was the volunteers on site who were... More

This is well worth visiting. Situated right by the seafront, on a lovely sunny day it is well worth taking a look.

Parking off-season in Grand Parade. Motorists in the summer are best advised to avoid car parking hassles by using the park-and-ride scheme. The church is managed by English Heritage.

Close to where we were staying. Unable to go inside as it was closed but has a plaque outside to explain the history of the church

Finally got to fit in a visit to th Garrison Church which has limited opening hours. The church, though severely damaged in WW2, still provides a good impression of a medieval hospice, and the remaining chapel is a little gem. Wheelchair access is possible, just, but is not easy, though th e volunteer staff are on hand to help with... More

The church was not far from our hotel and so we decided to pop in and visit it. The outside location is quite interesting and inside there are a lot of memory about several British Army.

From outside the windows don't look much but viewed from within they are a great work of intricate lead and glass depicting modern and old scene's in bright colours. It's free to enter but check the open hours on the website as they change throughout the year.
