The old bombed ruin has been brought to a high standard for tourists to enjoy a visit.
It reminded me much of Coventry Cathedral's entrance through the bombed ruins of the old cathedral.
Lovely feature stained glass window depicting the bombing.

What a shame that it was bombed during WW2. Still it is a lovely feature of our daily lives in Old Portsmouth and pass it every day as it is only 50 m from our front door

This will be passed during a walk through Old Portsmouth. It is a reminder of WWII with a bombed roof. It looked deserted and remains a memoire of the huge bombing and destruction of Portsmouth.

I actually had not known there is such a place at the seaside, until I was there! It looks amazing, together with the seaside fortifications it creates a beautiful spot for photographs.

It is amazing that this building looks so intact from a distance. The missing roof though is a bit of a worry when it is raining!! We were lucky the sun was shining on it when we were there - could say the sun was shinning on the righteous

A beautiful, emotive place to visit with an atmosphere of calm and peace. The staff are welcoming and very helpful. There is a lot of history here.

Visited today and the church looked lovely in the sun. The grounds were very clean. The roof is missing due to the German bombings in 1941. It is a great piece of history that has been kept intact. Highly recommend a visit.

I have been walking past this church for over twenty years and it has never been open. Then on the 7 June we came across the open gates, all part of the D-Day celebrations. The roof is missing, bombed out during WW11 but the far end is intact and is beautiful.
