Even though it is a bit of hike to get to, this ancient burial mound is worth the effort, especially towards dusk when the site becomes magical in appearance.

Went with friends. Steep walk up from the car park. Long barrow interesting with wonderful views. Peace spoilt by drone being flown. Spent about-/2 he at the barrow. Back at car found that car had been broken into. The sign warning of thieves in area...More

We visited with our dowsing friends and had arranged a talk by a local guide and artist. The history of the place is really interesting and we found many energy lines. The views across the hills on the way up (yes it's quite a steep...More

If you're not hiking from Winchcombe itself, you can park up on the main road, and follow the way-marker on the Cotswold Way to Belas Knap. The walk will take about 20 to 30 minutes, and it's a fair climb, though easy underfoot. En route,...More

It's a steep climb from the roadside parking - lovely views and, yes, once you get there there's a real sense of history but, we can't see how you would spend more than ten minutes there. Walk was good and if you're in the area...More

This is worth a visit if you are already walking and passing by on the Cotswold way - but I wouldn't make a special trip. It will take ten/20 minutes to see and you can wander around it, but not really a lot to view.

It’s a good 2 mike walk, mainly uphill, from Winchcombe, but the views on the way up, and at the top, are worth the climb. Not much to see really, but a burial ground over 5,000 years old is quite significant, and worth a visit!

Having walk through a great deal of the countryside in and around Gloucestershire and Worcestershire, this was a must have for us to do during our time in the UK. The hike is not a long one but certainly a step one. If the ground...More

We visited in February and having done many walks we decided to go to the car park shown on all the walking maps as it was a very cold day. No signs for car park only a walking sign. We went along two narrow tarmac...More

A fairly steep 20-min walk from Corndean Lane lay-by. Lovely views over the patchwork fields towards Winchcombe and Sudeley Castle. Very muddy when we visited due to heavy snowfall so slippery in places. Farmers ask you to keep to the path (Cotswold Way) around the...More

We stopped at Belas Knap on our walk on the trail between Winchcombe and Charlton Kings, and it was a nice diversion from our labors. While the barrow may be lacking in excitement (what, no wights?), the display board had some good background information on...More
