Highgrove is the private residence of TRH The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall. Its organic gardens are open to the public for guided tours between April and October each year. Tickets must be booked in advance.

It's as perfect as you'd expect, displaying the fruits of best practice gardening techniques (so that's what a pruned apple tree should look like). The guide was informative and friendly and the afternoon tea splendid.

We attended a tour of the gardens and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. Despite the dreadful rain (we had sensibly purchased wellies earlier in the day), it was a brilliant tour. We walked through so many different areas of the gardens, through mud, puddles, vegetables gardens........More
