We're really proud of this museum and its recently developed garden. My husbands mother was a volunteer at the old museum in Stroud and the 'new' museum is a credit to all those who have worked so hard to make it brilliant! The textiles exhibition currently running is really lovely and the animation exhibition is fascinating. The new garden is... More

So the temporary exhibition programme in is surely the icing on the cake – the excellent current one of the work of professional textile artists from East Anglia imaginatively includes some pieces created specially for the Stroud area (ends 25... The building itself is beautiful and the modern extension works very well. The museum has loads of exhibits and focuses on the local area showing the progression through time. It is very well laid out and the written detail is precise. We were very impressed. The walled garden was also a real treat and the volunteer who helped us with... More

I Visited the museum today as I had some time to kill and am interested in history. I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of locally found artifices from dinosaur bones to children's toys. There is also a cafeteria area and really clean toilets. The museum is housed in a lovely old building but they have installed a lift for... More

This is a great visit. An excellent local museum in a delightful setting in Stratford Park so next to the park and the leisure centre and within walking distance of the town centre too. Good displays....manageable and very children friendly. Reflects perfectly Stroud's fascinating and important history....quirky, ancient, industrial. There is a good temporary exhibition gallery and a very active... More
