Cheltenham Town Hall was built in 1902-03 in order to provide a venue for the many balls and concerts which made up the town's social calendar at the turn of the twentieth century. Until the year 1900, that role had been filled by the old Assembly Rooms in the High Street, and it was their demolition to make way for a bank that prompted the Council to build a new, and much larger Hall on a new site. The Town Hall, situated on Imperial Gardens in the centre of Cheltenham comprises of a Grand Main Hall, distinguished by its Corinthian styles columns and coved ceiling.

Seats in one of the boxes near the back - difficult to see and hurt my neck after a while. Luckily as it was a comedian I could just listen. Wouldn't go further back than halfway in a box again. Also annoying that the ladies loos are only on one side so it is necessary to go to and fro... More

Travelled from Cardiff to see Danny Baker. He was brilliant. The floor is level so view of stage somewhat restricted, especially when the woman in front of me couldn't keep still. Bought pint of lager, and glass of wine pre show, over 10 quid!!! Staff very friendly.Had to queue for Gents in interval. Beautiful buildings, once you negotiate road works outside.

I booked two ticket's (one being a carer's ticket which was free) as we entered the Town Hall the doorman took my tickets and looked for the person I was accompanying, when he saw my husband... A lovely venue, a little tired and the seat could be a little more comfortable, but that said your never to far from the stage and it's a lovely place for a show.

This is a beautiful old building. It's true it needs a good refurb and a lick of paint here and there but the architecture is great. There's a lot more to this than a good entertainment venue. A nice café and a really restful place to sit and people-watch. Definitely worth a visit. There's usually something going on and something... More

A fantastic piece of architecture, a huge hall with a beautiful ceiling and impressive organ often obscured for events. A great space to sit in, but it also hosts some great shows, events and plays. Really nice bar and cafe and great staff Well worth a visit. Check out their website for events.

Had an amazing time with friends, danced and sang along all evening. Drinks are very pricey but such a beautiful building to watch any event

Cheltenham Town Hall has a very attractive and welcoming appearance from the front but once inside it soon becomes very obvious that it lacks both love and attention, everywhere looks tired and unkempt and in need of a very deep clean and a coat of paint, such a shame for such a lovely building.
