The annexed café is just dreadful, I can’t think of one positive!

Staff are rude and disinterested, the coffees and hot chocolate were revolting and expensive. Apparently the machines had been busy today, what a rip-off.

If you want a nasty machine-made drink and to get fleeced at the same time, this is the place for you!

EXCELLENT Heritage Cafe! Cannot understand the negative reviews, we meet there regularly for coffee and always find it welcoming and pleasant. Usually very busy with dog walkers and families, but the staff are great, the furnishings comfy, and the food and drink lovely. Very beautifully decorated for Christmas, with seasonal goodies! Cannot understand the negative reviews at all, fancy calling it a shed...

Total waste of time as it was closed (it looked like they were setting up for an event) with no sign or explanation making it a waste trip. From other reviews it appears that this is normal practice for them. The park is nice though and perfect for a walk if weather allows. However I would not put in your itinerary unless you have nothing else to do

Open the building and have the cafe inside. I went yesterday with three other adults to tge shed by the side. It was noisy and smelly, even if only half full. The staff looked bored. The coffee was weak and the pastries dull. Too many notices saying the place is a charity. At least most charities feel alive.

We had a lovely birthday gathering at the Orangery the other morning, when a friend had a big birthday, and we all gathered for coffee. The staff were very kind to us and looked after us beautifully, many thanks!
This Orangery cafe is a superb asset to the town, and we must resist all efforts by misguided folk to remove it.

Paper cup, weak hot chocolate, cold room. Total waste of money. £6.60 for two awful drinks. Paying for location, poor quality. Avoid.

I thought we could get into the pump room, but it was closed. Only the cafe was open.
We sat on a bench for a while and left.

The cafe is truly terrible.

A dog was running around behind the counter around cakes that weren’t covered. Tongs were then dropped on the floor and then used to serve food.

Health and safety disaster.

I have given up on this place - the cafe structure outside, i.e. the cafe and associated outbuildings, and the under-appreciated inside. The tent cafe is ugly, noisy and the coffee and food hit and miss. Allowing dogs inside is a mistake, as tables are too crowded and most dogs lie in the walkways and you trip over them if not careful. Dogs can stay outside surely, as there are nice tables and chairs on the terrace. If it's cold, the cafe could provide blankets as at other cafes. As for inside the Pump Room inside, most times I have been it is empty and between events. Som etimes the historypanels are up but it is so lifeless and quite daunting to walk in. I wanted to taste the mineral water again but it is still not available - seems like tears now. There is no helpful information about when it will be restored.

All very low key, with a few token posters. The pump itself is easily missed and doesn't work. Poor service in the cafe.
