Visited Hailes Abbey (8 June 2017) on the way back from visiting Sudeley Castle. On arrival, we paid our £6.20 entrance fee and were then told that the shop and museum were closed until the end-of-June due to refurbishment, so we wouldn't be able to...More

I thought it was too expensive for what was offered. We were hiking and didn't want to stop for long--but it was interesting to walk around.

We were lucky with the weather and lambs were bouncing in the fields around so we were happy before we went in. Unfortunately the musium section was closed for restoration.but the information boards around the site were very good. Enjoyed the peaceful surroundings.

The Abbey ruins are preserved by English Heritage and when we visited recently they were closed for the winter. However, by using adjacent footpaths, it is possible to have an excellent view of the site. Opposite the Abbey is the parish church which is well...More

Fascinating history from 800 years ago.. little gift shop on site.. there is pictures dotted around showing what certain areas would've looked like 'back in the day'. Highly recommend visiting here.
