Great castle. Only small but it does have hands on activities for all ages. Prices not to bad either. Worth a visit and great for all ages. Really enjoyed the visit the staff are lovely too.

Henry III gave permission for the castle to be build in 1249 and it is well preserved and you have a beautiful view into the landscape!

Happened to be passing by and castle looked interesting. Very informative chat with the man handling admissions. Interesting artefacts with great views from the torrents.

Great history and views. Friendly staff. Admission was £8 for family. Children had opportunity to dress in costume.

It's a very small castle but even so, it is interesting and can be seen in a short period of time. They do try to cover everything though - prison, living conditions, women's preparation, guards, war, history (see pics). There are picturesque views from the...More

Very modest local history museum. Entry fee is UKP 4 for an adult. small kids (maximum 3) get free entry. The items on display aren't very special, and it's a small place that won't occupy your time for more than 20 minutes. The tower itself...More

I believe the Heritage Centre is still running Ghost Walks through the town, but they no longer end with entry to the Castle.
