I absolutely love going up to Lewes Castle.
The views of the town and the Downs from the top are absolutely amazing as has been noted in other reviews. They also have signs everywhere explaining about the views.

Hi, there isn't a cafe on site but there is a Cafe Nero within a few minutes, there is a pub across the road (The Brewers Arms) which is very good and i think they do coffee etc. If memory serves correct, the entry for the castle and museum was about £6.50. Hope that helps you.
