Saw Don Pascquale, most entertaining, actors and orchestra perfect, the right decorations, but for a foreigner, even as one of these Continental Europeans, the most spectacular impressions were beforehand, in the pause and after the buffo opera, inhale the whole atmosphere, enjoy the guests, surroundings,...More

Glyndebourne is a British institution and has been for many years. The standard of the opera is always good, with great singers and orchestra, and comfortable seats. On a fine day, it is wonderful to walk round the grounds before the opera begins (with the...More

Glyndebourne is high up on the list of expensive summer music festivals in Europe. The setting is legendary, with beautiful gardens and fields open to visitors where music lovers bring their own picnics or order picnic baskets on the Internet. The organisation runs so smoothly...More

I've been fortunate to visit Glyndebourne Festival on several occasions. The whole opera experience is second to none, with world class singers and musicians, and stunning costumes and sets. The theatre itself is a great place to soak up the culture - air conditioned and...More

The Mildmay restaurant is not your normal relaxed eatery. In terms of how it has to provide hundreds of interval meals all at once it is run more like a school canteen than a restaurant. I think it does it quite well enough. How does...More
