Lovely museum where you can spend an hour seeing the exhibits. There is a lovely room where they have weddings. The native American exhibits is especially interesting and they have activities that children would enjoy having a go at.

Of course the title is true of all museums but my husband and I remember the stuffed animals display from when we were kids. Suffice to say that was a few decades ago. 😉 There are great changing collections too though and an old Eastern style wood pannelled room. It's not a huge museum and the collections aren't huge either... More

Very interesting small museum. Durbar hall is fantastic. Lots of different exhibits from prehistory, town history, ethnography to art. Great little shop too with some keenly priced buys. Friendly staff. Museum is a ways from main tourist area but would recommend making the short walk up the hill.

This house is full of surprises, the displays are so varied there's something for everyone. Formerly owned by a well traveled family, the house is home to their passion for the past. Lots to see and well designed for children too.

We were lucky enough to be invited to a wedding that was held in this majestic building some time ago and then returned recently for another visit. For any visitor to the area it is a lovely place to spend some time soaking up some local history and excellent should the weather be unkind to you and you need to... More

We visited the museum to see the native American exhibits, which we found extremely interesting, Grey Owl especially. We found all of the museum so interesting and the staff very helpful. Well worth a visit.

Just attended a wedding in the Durbar Hall. What a truly fantastic and unique location for a wedding. The photo on the website does not do it justice - go and see it for yourself. Stunning!

A spur of the moment visit and worth every minute. Entry is free (we left a 10.00 donation on exiting). The building was undergoing external renovations but this did not affect our visit. The interior condition, layout, collection and ambience was perfect, we followed a logical route around the floors. The rooms were logic lyrics laid out with well kept... More
