Despite the devastation caused by the A27 Brighton bypass after the great storm of 1987, the park has offered generations of Brighton folk an accessible place to visit on the edge of the South Downs for decades. There are woodland walks and open spaces for ball games, although the cricket pitch in front of Stanmer House is no more, there... More

I went to Stanmer park whilst they were holding the Thai festival and I have never laughed so hard! The food was incredible, good portions and cheap and a huge mix of families and groups of friends and was definitely a bringing together of the community.

Stanmer Park is my favourite walking area. The main house has open fires, open for breakfast, lunch and supper, has a bar too so perfect to crash there after a long walk through the fields and woods. Stanmer Village is sweet and tiny with a small village cafe to relax in too. In the autumn the press their own apple... More

A wonderful place for a picnic, a stroll or a pedal through the woods. The woods are a lot more extensive than you might think and surround the village on all sides. Check out the maps online. There is a decent cafe in the village and Stanmer House has a restaurant which has received variable reviews. The only reason I... More

Stanmer is a huge and peaceful area to explore with loads of woodland and longer walks beyond the park besides the sweeping mown grass areas just ideal for kids to play on. There is a small cafe as well as a posher restaurant and bar in the big house, with a plant nursery for keen gardeners and you can easily... More

We had a 3 course meal with jazz. Drinks were rather expensive and some of the food was lovely but my fillet steak wasn't good at all. Not the chef's fault as it was poor quality meat. Hopefully the supplier has been told!

Went walking in and around Stanmer Park - and it is very beautiful. However - at the end of the walk I had got a bit wet in an unexpected shower and went into the cafe for a coffee. As we are in the 21st Centuary, I did not carry cash while out walking - just my debit card. I... More
