My partner loved it.... I thought it was ok.... It is clever looking at how the sewers are built and learning some of the history. It didn't smell as bad as I was expecting once you adapt to it. It's about an hour long, including a talk in a lecture room. The video is the same as what's on the... More

I had been trying to get a ticket for the Sewer Tour for two years, and it was well worth the wait... everything I'd hoped for and more! The guides are excellent and engaging (and all have first-hand experience working the sewers themselves) and the hour and a half tour absolutely flew by! It's a nice chance not only to... More

I took my eleven and thirteen year old granddaughters on this tour and they both found it interesting and took a while to get used to the initial whiff! This is a proper sewer so sensible shoes and long trousers are required. Several people turned up in shorts and this caused the guides some issues as theynhadnto find coveralls for... More

We booked for the 9.30am to avoid it being too hot and smelly underground. I needn't have worried, it's a static temperature all year round and it was more like a 'damp towel discovered after a week' smell. It was so fascinating and the guides were very funny and informative. I would highly recommend this tour.

Really loved this which may seem odd considering this was a sewer. Got its as a pressie for my hubby and we both were impressed Learnt lots and guides were invaluable with their knowledge and friendly. Smelly yes but to be expected, wear old clothes and decent flat trainers as lots of climbing and walking.

We booked our sewer tour for Saturday morning - we booked in advance online, it's worth booking in advance as it does get booked up quickly. We really didn't know what to expect, but we thought the whole experience was great! The guides are very informative and it's amazing to learn of all the history and how the sewers function... More

Definitely book your tour ahead of time as it's very popular and only available for a few months a year. The staff providing the tour are fantastic, enthusiastic and funny. The information they share is so interesting. When you first arrive there is a safety talk and a short video - it gets really warm in there so if you're... More

I enjoyed the tour more than I expected. Hardly smelly at all! Book well in advance as very popular and limited numbers for safety reasons. The guides were very informative making it very enjoyable and reacted to the different age range. Our bags/coats were left securely while using the walkways/ladders. Hard hats with miners lamp and latex gloves were worn... More

A friend bought us tickets for the Brighton sewer tour as a birthday gift for another friend (original birthday treat!). There were 4 of us who joined another 20 for the tour: 9.30 & 11am on Saturday or a Wednesday evening. The guides are Southern Water workers who clearly do it for the joy of walking members of the public... More

This is a very interesting tour and the guides are sociable and informative. Safety is paramount and you are given a hard hat with attached head torch. The smell is not bad at all but I had taken a small roll on perfume oil which I applied under my nose when we began. I think that the best bit is... More
