A nice little train but doesn't go all the way to the marina. A bit expensive really if you think for about the same price you can go all the way up the Great Orme in Llandudno on two trams and it is actually cheaper to get a taxi to the Marina!

Take the handy 12 minute train journey back from the Marina to the pier to take the weight off your feet. Take dogs too as long as not wet/sandy and can travel at your feet. Railway closes for 4th September for repairs

What a fabulous little train from Marina to the Pier! Such a delightful train ride and the whole family enjoyed it! The train goes right along the seafront!

A Brighton institution, the Volks railway also provides a very practical way of getting from the Marina to town and back. Surprisingly, there appears to be no signage at the Marina directing people to the station, and to reach it you have to go to the corner of Asda's car park and through a rather grubby tunnel. Worth the trouble... More

Kids loved it and to be honest so did I. It hasn't change one bit since I was a kid great value for money. Make fun of a boring walk from the Marina to the pier.

Believed to be the oldest electric railway in the world, the Volks Electric Railway has plyed it's trade along Brighton sea front since 1883. Operating regular trains throughout the summer season, the rolling stock is not quite as old as the railway with the regular units dating from 1910! Unfortunately it can get very busy at peak holiday times with... More

Useful ride back after the long walk. But you kinda think more could be made of this. In fact i am sure Mr Volk would havf expected it. Toilets at the Rock station are a disgrace in this day and age.

As a big kid at heart I really enjoyed the little train! We came to Brighton as we were participating in the London to brighton mini run, our mini was at one end so It was such a fun way to get from one side of the sea front where we'd parked to the other. It stops half way as... More

I travelled to Brighton on a Cooks coach, I decided to travel on the Volks railway. The cost to seniors is £2-90 return to Black Rock. It was well worth the visit, but the two car train was crowded. This is an early example of an electric railway. Recommended.
