This area is so eclectic and interesting. Like a small village attached to a city but with incredible and varied architecture. Many good restaurants, cafes and bars. A great place to while away some time.

Having stayed in Kemptown for the past couple of weeks, I must admit to changing my first impression of the place, which was rather negative. It IS noisy at night if you're staying in a B&B locally, but that's because it's so lively and attracts so many different people. It is bustling.....full of cafes, restaurants and alternative type shops. It's... More

The nerve centre for Pride in early August. U.K. Number One Gay scene. An area of architectural interest. Home of Alice in Wonderland's Lewis Carroll. Plenty of pubs, bars, bakery, restaurants, cafes and flea markets and a few antique shops. A MUST. Highly recommended day of evening. Pubs with jazz and other social activities.

Kemptown is a must visit area of Brighton, great for a bit of shopping and also a vibrant place for a night out - If Kemptown hasn't got what you want, you probably won't find it anywhere in Brighton

This part of town has the tattoo parlours, night clubs, supermarkets and 'ethnic' food spots and is definitely worth a look. I can recommend 'Bona Foodie' for lunch. The food is all made on the premises and cooked in ovens behind the counter. The quiches and salads, lasagne, cakes and coffee are all wonderful. Volk's electric railway operates along the... More

Amongst the wonderful architecture from there are lots of nooks and crannies to be found be it a little mews or individual style it has a high street where independent shops and venues can be enjoyed along with lots of cafes and pubs.

Stayed in this area a few times, it's away from the busier bars and thoroughfares, and has a small village feel. Mixed bohemian, newly gentrified and some a little dowdy, but all cool. Great mix of people, bars, restaurants.

Kemptown is a beautiful place about a mile away from the pier. There's a huge choice of cafes, bars, pubs and restaurants that offer excellent food & drink. A friendly area with amazing buildings to admire and within easy reach of Brighton and beyond.
