On first sight, there is a lovely London city feel to these old buildings and the gardens sweep outwards to the abyss. The greens are sliced open by colours in flowers and feel. Delightful area.

Kemptown is a vibrant and busy corner of Brighton. Rather like Camden in London in appearance and style, although not as big, it has it's own charm and atmosphere that is quite unlike the big city version. Things are far more laid back and relaxed...More

Kemptown is home to tolerant people: gay, straight or both. It is a breath of fresh air in an otherwise too often prejudiced world. It is also an exceedingly beautiful quarter, with stunning views onto the Brighton sea and the main Victorian pier. You will...More

We stayed here, just off the front and found it to be a great location with quirky shops in abundance and also the mainstream essentials near by. Clean and tidy. Nightmare to part.

Antique shops maybe, cafes but nothing much else that we have noticed worthy of a visit. Architecture was not particularly striking either until at the end of Kemptown where there is a cluster of Regency buildings.

Kemptown is at the edge of Brighton but does not offer much other than some shops. It in fact is a bit boring to visit and is not somewhere I would take anyone to see.

Charity shops, cafe's, clubs, sex shops, tea shops, beautiful architecture, specialist vintage and antique shops. More B&B's than you can shake a stick at (some more expensive than the top sea front hotels) and a wide range of exquisite deli's that will satisfy all your...More

Visited with friends from the USA - they were very impressed. We were very lucky with the weather - it was glorious and really showed off all the buildings. We walked from the pier to the Marina along the front so had lots of opportunities...More

Hi cannot advise you really as it depends on your budget. Look for accommodation in Upper Rock Gardens as that is a lovely area. Do not book anything on St James's Street as that is always busy but lovely. If you really want... More

The pavements are quite well negotiable in a wheelchair as the kerbs are dropped at the ends of the roads. Some shops do have disabled access upon request but some are at street level. As the previous person says, Kemptown... More
