It was a lovely day and we had had lunch in an Itian Restuarant in town earlier. The pier itself was a bit of a let down. The benifit was being close to the water and catching the air.

Def take a ramble with your book. look at all the plaques on the actual boardwalk. sit on the bench and take in the view.

For a small charge toward it's upkeep, you can enter the Pier & spend as long as you want on there. They are still doing renovation work but doing a great job.

Sorry I am not in Swanage now but was told that the pier was aiming to open late summer. I suggest you ring pier master to confirm or Swanage Tourist Information

They were there September 2018. I was told there are now 7001 and saw someone cleaning some with brasso
