A wonderful, if somewhat bleak, memorial to Hardy who lived nearby. Never been up the tower, but often walked nearby. Some people have complained about the car park being locked. There is an alternative car park 50 meters down the hill towards Weymouth.

Spectacular views even if you can't make the 151 steps to the top of the tower. The steps are reasonably accessible for the able bodied but anyone with any limit to their mobility (like me) would probably not attempt the climb

When we arrived here is was foggy weather, a fair wind and the tower was closed. Below on the hill top are some picknick tables and explanation panels. On a nice day there may be beautiful views, possibly you can see the sea.

This monument was built in memory of Vice Admiral Thomas Hardy and is the shape of a ships spyglass. This was closed early on the day that we went so we just looked at it and checked out the stunning view.

Amazing views to Chesil Beach, Portland, Golden Cap and inland. Surrounded by beautiful heathland and lovely walks. Lots of steps spiral around to make you dizzy. Good heart work out!
