Visited one very wet and windy Saturday afternoon, an entry fee is payable on the door which is very understandable. Very Interesting museum with lots of varied pieces of art, furniture etc. from all over the world collected by Merton Russell Cotes and his wife on their many trips. Plenty of information on all the displays. Small café offering lovely... More

Having lived in the town for many years and visited the museum as it evolved into its present form we decided to get a group of friends together and book for a "Behind the scenes tour". We booked well ahead but think they are run once a month and as they can only accommodate 10 people at a time places... More

Was told by a friend to visit and was not disappointed. A beautiful house full of exquisite treasures collected from around the world by the couple who used to live there. Stunning stained glass ceilings, beautiful tiles and old light switches - definitely a place to visit. Visit the toilets inside the house as they too are lovely! Closed on... More

This is a remarkable venue in the centre of Bournemouth. Take time out for a visit. The contents are just stunning as is the interior design. They have activity centres for children and a very nice cafe for visitors.

Awesome eclectic collection of art, antiques and memorabilia from all over the Victorian Empire, collected by this wealthy but intrepid couple on their tours around the world.

The Russell-Cotes is set just above the beach on the East Cliff side. Its well run and packed with interesting art. The house itself is an historic delight and there is a great cafe. Not for tiny children but a must if visiting the area.

It was a very wet day when we visited and because of this, on arrival we had to hang our coats on a rail and put our rucksacks in a locker by the entrance, because the humidity would affect the paintings. There is a charge to enter, even for children although it would not be very interesting for that age... More

Visited this recently and found it fascinating!! The pieces of art and the various artefacts collected from around the world was staggering. The museum had a really nice flow about it, the information cards and notations were easy to read and extremely informative. The cafe had something for everyone even gluten free treats which my girlfriend enjoyed and the coffee... More

This is a family house and is still set out as such. It is packed with furniture paintings and statues. There are collections brought back from the families tours of Europe. Allow at least two hours. Guide tours are also available.
